Emirates revamps corporate loyalty programme.

Emirates has revamped its corporate loyalty programme, Emirates Business Rewards, to provide greater value and added features for customers. The new programme has been simplified and made more competitive to allow for easier redemptions and upgrades even on last minute bookings.

One of the biggest features in the newly improved programme is the ability to use Business Rewards Points to book any commercially available seat at any time giving members cash-like convenience. Emirates is the first and only airline in the region to offer such flexibility as part of its corporate loyalty programme – improving cost-effectiveness for business travel.

Emirates recently commissioned an independent survey on the perception and habits of over 800 business travellers and decision makers of business travel in the UAE[i]. The key findings reiterate the need for cost effectiveness and flexibility in corporate travel which resonates with the new features of Emirates Business Rewards. According to the survey, the top 3 factors considered for airline selection were fare (30%), flight timings (26%), and value for money (23%).

Emirates Business Rewards will satisfy customer needs and provide value-added benefits catered to organisations of any size, charities and clubs. In addition to allowing redemptions for any seats, there is also greater flexibility when it comes to earning and redeeming the Business Rewards Points.

According to the survey, respondents most commonly book business travel online directly with the airline (29%). Smaller organisations were even more likely to conduct bookings directly online with more than 50% of their corporate travel booked this way. With less reliance on third party booking agents, Emirates Business Rewards has enhanced user-experience with easy-to-use customer dashboards. These include tools to manage and book services for employees, and monitor the savings accumulated so far on the programme.

Enrolment has also been simplified regardless of organisation size. The introduction of the ‘Guest Traveller’ function means that organisations can include non-company persons, such as consultants, or clients who travel on behalf of the organisation, and still earn Business Rewards Points.

While the programme will continue to provide value and service to key industries such as Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, Trading and IT, the simplified system and unlimited employee enrolment will also allow other industries with a large labour force, such as the construction industry to benefit from the programme.

Emirates provides direct connectivity from Dubai to over 150 destinations across six continents. In all classes, Emirates provides quality products and value for money with luxurious private suites in First Class, flat-bed seats in Business Class and the iconic A380 Onboard Lounge, the largest in-seat screens in the world in Economy class at 13.3 inches and more than 2,500 channels of on-demand entertainment in all cabins. “Performing at the 14th Edition of Blankets and Wine is one of the difficult stages on the Ugandan music scene and for me to be a part of it, is an honor. I am going to preach the word of God to my fans. This is a great opportunity for me. The revelers I will be performing for love and understand my music.” Said Levixone

Commenting about the opportunity of having Uganda’s best gospel artiste and fast rising star performing at the Blankets and Wine 14th edition, Tusker Malt Lager Brand Manager, Alex Tusingwire said; “Having Levixone a gospel artiste at the 14th Edition of Blankets and Wine is great news to gospel lovers. Giovanni Kiyingi to showcase his multi-instrumentalist skills at the 14th Edition of Blankets and Wine.

Ugandan folk singer-songwriter and Afro-fusion multi-instrumentalist, Giovanni Kiyingi, will be one of the acts to look out for during the hugely anticipated 14th Edition of Blankets and Wine happening at the Lugogo Cricket Oval on 25th September, 2016 that will have South African sensation – Mafikizolo as the lead act.

Well known for his multi-instrumentalist skills, Kiyingi plays drums, guitar, harmonica, flute, local Ugandan fiddle (endigidi), conga, adungu (a stringed musical instrument of the Alur people of northwestern Uganda), akogo (finger piano), djembe (rope-tuned skin-covered goblet drum played with bare hands, originally from West Africa), maracas (rumba music shakers) and the calabash.

“Performing on a platform like the 14th Edition of Blankets and Wine is an entirely different audience. So I am putting in more studio time to perform my voice, and polishing up with my instrument selection so that my set can be as invigorating as it will be entertaining. Since I only recently dropped a new album (Akondeere) I will be able to maximize the huge numbers here to raise my flag even higher and gain more recognition,” Kiyingi remarked.

Commenting about the myriad of talent that Blankets and Wine brings to its audiences, Tusker Malt Lager Brand Manager, Alex Tusingwire said that they make it a point to have every edition remarkably different from the other.

“This time round, Mafikizolo as the headlining act are in a league of their own. But regardless, the Ugandan performers too will undoubtedly sizzle. He defines what Tusker Malt Lager and Blankets and Wine stand for.”

Joshua Seale posted an impressive 286 with two under par to become the new champion of the Tusker Malt Uganda Open. He had 72 on Day One, 72 on Day Two, 73 on Day Three and 69 on Day Four to fend off the advances by Zambia’s Muthiya Madalitso and Kenya’s Kopan Timbe.

Last year’s champion, Muthiya Madalitso, came in second after posting 291. Madalitso had gone into Day Two of the Tusker Malt Uganda Open in joint lead with Kenya’s Andersen Stefan but a triple Bogey on Hole 5 and a bogey on Hole 16 left him chasing Joshua Seale’s shadow.

Seale was relentless as he went into Day Four with an attacking mindset. His consistency throughout the final day as his colleagues in the same pressure group kept on slipping was a major weapon in his Arsenal.

Madalitso posted 291 with two over par while Kopan posted 291. Andersen came in fourth place after posting 291 too.

Uganda’s biggest hope at the tournament, Mawa Saidi, came in seventh place posting a score of 293.

Coming into the tournament, Joshua Seale had promised that he was here to win the tournament and there was no other option for him.

“Although the course was challenging at every turn, I knew I could use it to my advantage. I am elated with my latest achievement and I leave Uganda with fond memories. It has been a good tournament and my opponents gave me a good game. I will be back next year to defend my championship.” Said Joshua Seale.

Seale bagged UGX 24, 750,000 million for his win in the Tusker Malt Uganda Open. He now joins an elite class of golfers to have played in Uganda and win the Open.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Uganda Breweries Limited Managing Director, Mr. Mark Ocitti said; “It is with genuine admiration that I offer congratulations to the tournament winner Joshua Seale after what has been an outstanding performance. Congratulations are also in order to all the award winners – your hard work and dedication is truly appreciated. Thank you for what you do for the game.”
