Airtel Rwanda awarded Best 4G Mobile Network Operator for the year 2015.

Olleh Rwanda Networks has awarded Airtel Rwanda as the best 45 Mobile Network Operator for the year 2015.

Airtel received the award for exceptional performance in the 4G LTE business at the Mannor Hotel during a networking event organised by Olleh Rwanda Networks, the 4G wholesaler in Rwanda. Amongst those in attendance were; all Mobile Network Operators, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and other 4G retailers.

“Airtel Rwanda has continued to be the ISP of choice, providing the best and fastest internet connections and smartphone devices in Rwanda. We thank Olleh Rwanda Networks for having recognized our work as we continue to provide the best services for the people of Rwanda” said Airtel Rwanda Data and Devices Manager, Chrysanthe Turatimana.

Airtel Rwanda remains the preferred Fast Speed Internet Service Provider of 3G and 4G in Rwanda.

Airtel Customers win big in the ongoing Airtel Money promotion.

Airtel Money users have a new reason to be optimistic in 2016 following the launch of a new and exciting rewards campaign.

Dubbed ‘Yoola Amajja’, this 90 days campaign is essentially about giving Airtel Money subscribers a chance to win up to 2,000,000 shillings daily when they carry out any transaction using the efficient Airtel Money platform.

As part of this campaign, there will also be a grand draw where lucky Airtel Money subscribers will stand a chance to win up to 20,000,000 shillings.

There have been tremendous efforts made to boost the functionality and efficiency of the Airtel Money platform. To boost financial inclusion, the platform now offers services such as; E-city payments, mobile banking, utility bill payments, school fees payments among others.

Speaking at the official launch of the campaign, Airtel Money Director Mr. Paul Langlois said “Over the next 90 days, Airtel Uganda will be giving its Airtel Money subscribers the best value back seeing as they will be rewarded for each transaction,” adding that Airtel has run very many successful campaigns in the past and therefore this is just an extension to an already existing history of the brand and its promise to continually reward customers.

Different from most campaigns which focus on Kampala district, the ‘Yoola Amaja’ campaign is going to give Ugandans in 24 regions of the country an opportunity to win this money through regional activations that will be carried out throughout the course of the 3-month period.

To participate in this campaign, Airtel Money subscribers should have;

  • Transacted through a mobile banking transaction that is sent money from one’s Airtel money account to their bank account.
  • Topped up a minimum of 500 worth of airtime through Airtel money
  • Purchased a voice bundle through Airtel Money
  • Made a cash withdrawal from Airtel Money
  • Purchased a data bundle through Airtel Money
  • Sent Money to another person using Airtel money
  • Paid bills using Airtel Money

Airtel Rwanda launches ’14 days of love’ campaign to support communities.

February is the month of love and Airtel Rwanda is going to be spreading its love throughout this month with a campaign dubbed as ’14 days of love’.

Airtel Rwanda has launched a campaign where it will be reaching out to organizations and communities that help in ensuring the wellbeing of Rwandans. Through its 14 days of love campaign, Airtel will be donating needed materials and money to these organizations so as they can be able to boost their activities.

Today, Airtel Rwanda kicked of the 14 days of love campaign at the Peace and Hope Initiative centre in Gasharu Cell, Kinyinya Sector, Gasabo District. The Peace and Hope Initiative is a local organization that was created by youth headed households after the 1994 Tutsi genocide. The main mission of this organization is to enhance the lives of vulnerable children and orphans through education, guidance and parental care. The organization supports the underprivileged children with school fees, health insurance and school materials.

Airtel Rwanda donated RWF 600,000 that will be used to support 123 students with school materials. Additionally, in order to encourage a healthy child and a brighter future, Airtel also distributed milk to the children.

Speaking at the event, Peace and Hope Initiative representative, Albert Musabyimana said; “We are so grateful for Airtel Rwanda. They have reached out to us and we shall use their donation to help refurbish the centre, buy scholastic materials and pay school fees. This is a true blessing.”

Representing the Airtel Rwanda Managing Director, Airtel Rwanda’s General Manager for Legal and External Affairs, Brian Kirungi said; “We know that February is the month of love and we shall spread our love to many communities in Rwanda. We have put aside resources to donate to organisations, institutions, individuals and NGOs that will be primarily chosen by Airtel Rwanda staff. We hope this can impact the lives of these communities.”

Airtel Rwanda Ni Ikirengaaa promotion comes to an end.

The highly popular Airtel Rwanda Ni Ikirengaaa promotion came to an end as the final winners flew to the Serena Hotel, Rubavu.

Four lucky winners who had previously won the daily cash prizes flew to Rubavu via Kigali International Airport. The winners included; Singirankabo Francois, Jean Paul Musabwa, Iyamuremye Eloi and Nyirarukundo Valerie.

The Ni Ikirengaaaa promotion has been ongoing, where Airtel Rwanda customers would win 300% bonus and daily cash prizes of up to 1.5 million FRW. Additionally, two lucky weekly winners were being rewarded with a two-day fully paid for holiday trip to the Serena Hotel, Rubavu with a VVIP experience.

The fully paid for holiday trip included a helicopter ride from the Kigali International Airport to the hotel, the winner of the trip would be able to bring a companion or friend along. Airtel Rwanda also gave the winners 100,000 FRW shopping money and at the end of the holiday, the winners would return in a luxury car.

 

Speaking to some of the winners, many spoke highly of the opportunity that Airtel had given them and praised the telecom company for having changed their lives. Among the winners were; students, unemployed people, businessmen and businesswomen, teachers, taxi conductors and many others.

Airtel Rwanda Brands and Communications manager, Clementine Nyampinga reassured customers that Airtel would continue to reward them as a way showing appreciation for the support and loyalty of the customers.

“We are grateful for our customers and they’re the reason we continue to grow strong in Rwanda. We shall introduce more campaigns that are aimed at rewarding our customers. We thank all those that participated in the Ni Ikirengaaa promotion and we wish the winners all the best.” She said.

Airtel Rwanda will launch more campaigns and continue to partake in corporate social responsibility activities as a way of supporting the communities it operates in.

Airtel Uganda Touches Lives in Kabale through Community Health Fair.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Airtel Uganda held a community health fair at Kakomo Primary School located in Kitumba sub county, Kabale.

In partnership with Hind’s Feet Program, Airtel Uganda invited residents of kitumba sub county and surrounding areas to attend the free health fair which started very early in the morning and went on until sunrise.

The medical services offered included; Hepatitis B screening and shots, Dental, eye checkups and general medicine, Screening for HIV, diabetes, ulcers, blood pressure, syphilis and other sexually transmitted diseases such as Hepatitis B, Screening and tests for malaria and cervical cancer, blood donation , Nutritional consultations, Consultations on disease prevention and management, Onsite treatment for common illnesses and donating towels, clothes, washing soap, toothpaste and tooth brushes to mothers and expectant ladies.

Speaking during the community health fair, Airtel Uganda Public Relations Manager, Mr.  Sandor Walusimbi said; “Airtel Uganda is proud to be associated with the communities that it serves. It is gratifying to see over 2,000 people come in to get access to free medical checkup treatment, counseling and referrals.”

“Working closely with our partners, we will continue to reach out to other communities in Uganda,” he added.

This is not the first time that the telecommunications’ company is holding a community outreach program in Uganda. Last year, Airtel Uganda held similar programs in Arua, Bugiri and other districts around the country.
