Airtel Uganda was the main sponsor of the 2015 Kabaka Run as part of a partnership agreement that was signed with the Buganda Kingdom worth 170 million shillings for the next three years to cater for four of the most important Buganda Kingdom activities; the Kabaka Run, Kabaka’s birthday, the Kabaka’s coronation as well as Eid El Fitri.

After the run, the crowds were addressed by the Katikkiro of Buganda Hon. Charles Peter Mayiga who stated that “With this kind of support from Airtel Uganda, Fistula will soon be an issue of the past. Helping women means we are helping the mothers of the nation so we thank you all.”

Speaking after the Run, Airtel Uganda Managing Director Mr. Tom Gutjahr said; “It is part of our social responsibility to contribute to the well-being of the society in which we live. Today is yet another victory that shows what society can achieve when people join hands for a just cause.”

The chief runner was Prince David Wasajja, who completed the 21 KM race in 2 hours and 50 minutes.
